Irish Citizens for Trustworthy E-Voting (ICTE)

I worked with Irish Citizens for Trustworthy E-Voting to ensure the electronic voting machines purchased by the Government for use in elections and referendums were fit for purpose, ensured adequate back-up through a Voter-Verified Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) and preserved the secrecy of the ballot through provision of a 'none of the above' option on the machine.

I wrote a submission to the Commission on Electronic Voting focusing on the use of 'none of the above' in other states around the world, through ballot and machine voting, underpinned by support for the VVPAT.

Ultimately the NEDAP electronic voting machines were scrapped due to the valid concerns outlined by myself, ICTE and others.
